Privacy Policy

Last updated: 12 June 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Sirup Music GmbH ("Sirup Music", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, stores, and protects your personal data when you take part in the NoXcuses #800 fan vote and interact with related services. We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your personal data transparently and lawfully, in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP).

1. Who we are (Data Controller)

The data controller responsible for your personal data is: Sirup Music GmbH, Lättenwiesenstrasse 3, 8152 Opfikon ZH, Switzerland. Email: request@sirupmusic.com.

If you have any questions about this Policy or how we handle your data, please contact us at the address above.

2. What personal data we collect

When you participate in the NoXcuses #800 fan vote, we collect: your email address (provided to submit your vote); your track selections; your marketing preference (whether or not you opted in to receive updates); and technical data (the date and time of your submission, and limited technical information necessary to operate the service securely). We do not collect special categories of personal data, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone we believe to be a child.

3. How we collect your data

We collect your personal data directly from you, when you complete and submit the voting form. We do not purchase or obtain your data from third parties for this purpose.

4. Why we use your data and our legal bases

We process your personal data only where we have a lawful basis to do so:

  • To register and administer your vote, and to ensure each participant votes only once — legal basis: our legitimate interests in running a fair and reliable vote (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)), and the necessity of processing to provide the service you requested.
  • To send you marketing communications about NoXcuses #800, EDX, and Sirup Music, only if you have explicitly opted in — legal basis: your consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)). You may withdraw this consent at any time.
  • To protect the security and integrity of our service and comply with our legal obligations — legal basis: our legitimate interests and compliance with legal obligations (GDPR Art. 6(1)(c) and (f)).

5. Marketing communications

We will only send you marketing emails if you have actively ticked the optional consent box. Ticking this box is never a condition for voting. If you opt in, every message includes a simple way to unsubscribe, and you can withdraw your consent at any time at no cost by emailing request@sirupmusic.com.

6. Who has access to your data

Your personal data is treated as confidential. We share it only with service providers (processors) who help us operate the vote — in particular our hosting and database provider, which stores the data on our behalf and under our instructions. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.

7. International data transfers

Sirup Music GmbH is based in Switzerland, and your data is hosted on servers located in Europe (Zurich region). Where personal data is transferred between Switzerland and the European Economic Area, such transfers are covered by adequacy recognition between the two jurisdictions. Where any transfer to another country occurs, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place as required by the GDPR and FADP.

8. How long we keep your data

  • Vote data (your email and track selections used to register your vote): retained until the NoXcuses #800 campaign is complete and the results have been announced, and deleted or anonymised within three months afterwards.
  • Marketing data (your email, only if you opted in to updates): retained until you unsubscribe or withdraw your consent.

We do not keep personal data for longer than necessary for the purposes described in this Policy.

9. Your rights

Under the GDPR and the Swiss FADP, you have the right to: access the personal data we hold about you; rectify inaccurate or incomplete data; erase your data; restrict or object to our processing; data portability; and withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent (this does not affect the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal). To exercise any of these rights, email request@sirupmusic.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority — in Switzerland, the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC); in the EU, your local supervisory authority.

10. Data security

We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorised access, loss, alteration, or disclosure. Access to vote data is restricted, and the public cannot read the email addresses or votes of other participants.

11. Cookies and tracking

The voting page uses only the essential storage required to operate the vote and remember your participation on your device. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies on this page.

12. Children

This vote is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can delete it.

13. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above.

14. Contact
